LESSON 22: WHO ARE THE 144000?

After punishing Egypt and all their vain idols with ten powerful judgment plagues

– turning the most powerful nation on the face of the earth then into a heap of rubbish –

God has finally managed to “persuade” Pharaoh to let His people go.

God’s people were happily marching towards the Red Sea,

when the king of Egypt hardened his heart again and changed his mind,

summoned his great army to pursue them, and pushed them into a corner:

the sea ahead, the enemy behind ([02] Exodus 14:9).

The prophet Moses then prayed to God for deliverance,

and a miraculous path was opened before the Israelites through the Red Sea.

“And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground:

and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.” [02] Exodus 14:22.

The pillar of dark cloud surrounding the Angel of YHWH

had moved from ahead of the Israelites to behind them,

blocking between them and the pursuing army,

giving light to the people of God,

and giving darkness to the Egyptians.

Groping in it to chase after the Israelites,

these forgetting-who-they-are-fighting-against fools had no idea

that they were charging down the path prepared to be their graves.

A blazingly bright and terrifying Being suddenly loomed over their head,

looking down at them in fierce indignation ([02] Exodus 14:24).

The darkness was lifted,

and the two walls of water on both sides could be seen clearly,

and the last chance for repentance had passed.

These wicked marauders were paralyzed in terror.

Those who were calm enough to not faint on the spot

gathered all their remaining strength to control their trembling bodies to flee,

but it was too late.

The two giant walls of water immediately collapsed upon their heads.

“And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen,

and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them;

there remained not so much as one of them.” [02] Exodus 14:28.

Witnessing the Egyptian soldiers strewing their corpses upon the beach,

the Israelites were awed beyond words at the sovereign power of God,

fear and love Him who fought for them ([02] Exodus 14:30-31).

And thus the first song of praise recorded in the Bible burst upon their lips:

the victory song of Moses ([02] Exodus 15:1-18).

The deliverance of the Israelites was but a shadow

of a deliverance much greater that will happen in a close future.

The book of [27] Revelation reveals that the day Lord JESUS shall return,

there will yet again be a special group of people

singing aloud the victory song of deliverance, praising God and His Son.

Please spend some time reading [27] Revelation 7:1-8 and [27] Revelation 14:1-5

before we dive into this lesson.

1. Who are they?

[27] Revelation 14:1-3 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion,

and with him an hundred forty and four thousand,

having his name and his Father’s name written in their foreheads.

And I heard a voice from heaven,

as the voice of many waters,

and as the voice of a great thunder:

and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

And they sung a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders:

and no man could learn that song

but the hundred and forty and four thousand,

which were redeemed from the earth.

2. Is the name list of the tribes of the 144.000 in [27] Revelation 7:5-8

the names of the original 12 tribes of Israel?

[01] Genesis 48:5 [Jacob speaking to Joseph] And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh,

which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt,

are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.

First of all, we should pay attention

and notice something very strange about this list of 12 names:

they are not really the names of the 12 sons of Jacob (or Israel).

Jacob had 12 sons,

but because Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers,

when Jacob divided the inheritance,

he lifted the 2 sons of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh,

to be equal to his own sons.

Thus the nation of Israel later on had 13 tribes,

because the “tribe” of Joseph

was divided into two tribes: Ephraim and Manasseh,

with the tribe of Ephraim often called the tribe of Joseph ([04] Numbers 1:32).

However, the tribe of Levi became the priests and ministers of the Lord,

and was dispersed throughout the entire nation,

so that there remain 12 tribes left,

each of them living in a land of their own.

But in this list, besides the name of the tribe of Joseph (or Ephraim) and the tribe of Manasseh,

there is also the tribe of Levi the dispersed ministers,

while the name of the tribe of Dan is missing (?!).

Meaning, this list is neither the names of Israel’s 12 sons,

nor the names of Israel’s 12 tribes (missing Dan).

3. So if this is a symbolic list of names

and not the actual 12 tribes of Israel accurately,

what is its spiritual significance?

Each of those Hebrew names has its meaningful story.

Look them up in [01] Genesis, in 29:32-35; 30:8, 11, 13, 18, 20, 24; 35:18 and 41:51,

the meanings behind those names are:

Judah: I praise the Lord.

Reuben: the Lord sees (me).

Gad: (grant) fortune.

Asher: happy am I.

Naphtali: my struggle.

Manasseh: (God) has made me forget.

Simeon: (God) hears me.

Levi: joined unto me.

Issachar: recompense/repay/buy (for) me.

Zabulon: good dowry/ treasure/ inheritance.

Joseph: add unto me.

Benjamin: the son of the right hand.

Put these names together according to the order in [27] Revelation 7:5-8, we have:

I praise the Lord (for) He has seen (me), (and grant) fortune.

Happy am I (for) my struggle the Lord has made me forget.

The Lord hears me (and) joined unto me.

He recompenses me an inheritance

(and) add unto me the Son of His right hand.

This is simply the story of salvation of the 144.000,

retelling the marvelous work the Lord has done for them.

4. What about the number of 144.000,

is it a symbolic number or an actual 144.000 people literally?

[27] Revelation 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed:

and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand.

In a letter to the Hastings to comfort them after the death of Mrs. Hastings, Mrs. White wrote:

‘I saw that she [Mrs. Hastings] was sealed

and would come up at the voice of God and stand upon the earth,

and would be with the 144,000.

I saw we need not mourn for her;

she would rest in the time of trouble,

and all that we could mourn for was our loss

in being deprived of her company.

I saw her death would result in good.’

{Selected Messages book 2, 263.3, letter 10, 1850}

The letter revealed that Mrs. Hastings,

an ordinary female lay member of the Seventh-day Adventist faith who died in 1850

(even before the church was officially organized and called by that name)

IS A MEMBER OF THE 144000.

That shows this group of people who are sealed with the Seal of God

had started to be formed right since the preaching of the three angels’ messages were initiated, before 1850.

And according to Mrs. White, it is an exact and literal number of 144.000 people,

NOT a symbolic one.

The question of who these 144.000 are, and whether it is a literal number or not,

had already been raised long ago,

and Willy C. White, son of Ellen G. White, had answered in a letter thus:

‘Now to the question: Did Sister White teach that those who died in the message since 1844

and of whom it is said, “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth,”

that they shall be members of the 144,000?

I can assure you, my brother, that this was the belief and the teaching of Ellen G. White.

Many times I have heard her make statements to this effect,

and I am in possession of a letter to Brother Hastings

who is mentioned on page 237 of Life Sketches

in which she says plainly that his wife who had recently died

would be a member of the 144,000.

In a letter recently received from a brother in Reno, Nevada,

reference is made to a statement in Elder Loughborough’s book found on page 29

in which it is reported that Sister White said:

“Those who died in the faith will be among the 144,000.

I am clear on that matter.”

And I testify, my brother, that that is in perfect harmony

with her writings, her sayings and her teachings

throughout the years of her ministry.’

By the way, this Willy C. White is the son that was trained and testified by Mrs. White thus:

‘It was also shown me that my son, W. C. White,

should be my helper and counselor,

and that the Lord would place on him

the spirit of wisdom and of a sound mind.

I was shown that the Lord would guide him,

and that he would not be led away,

because he would recognize the leadings and guidance of the Holy Spirit.’

About the 144.000, not just Willy White believed so,

THE ENTIRE CHURCH of the Pioneers believed so.

James White believed so.

Loughborough believed so.

Joseph Bates believed so.

Andrews believed so.

Ellen G. White believed so.

That this number of 144.000 is really a literal number of exactly 144.000 people,

comprised of all true believers of the three angels’ messages since 1844!

A fundamental Pillar of Faith of the SDA church that is nowadays buried.

Because there is a very good reason why many people would want to bury this truth.

5. Ever since the SDA church came to be,

there have been tens of millions of members throughout its history.

WHY ARE THERE ONLY 144.000 PEOPLE SEALED WITH THE SEAL OF GOD?

Why are all the rest of the church not sealed?

[27] Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion,

and with him an hundred forty and four thousand,

having his name and his Father’s name written in their foreheads.

The Seal of God, first and foremost,

is His name and His Son’s name written in the forehead

– a correct knowledge of the identity of the Only True God and His Only Begotten Son in the mind.

to ascertain how the Pioneers believed and taught regarding this topic.

Losing this Pillar of Faith

obviously will disable the church from receiving the Seal of God.

The fact that there are only 144.000 people having the Seal of God in their foreheads,

while this group is comprised of ALL believers of the Pioneeric SDA faith

since the three angels’ messages were proclaimed, in 1844,

is solid evidence proving that along the way

the SDA church MUST HAVE FELL (contaminated with at least one heresy),

losing the correct knowledge of God and His Son,

disabling them from receiving the Seal.

Thus the number of sealed people came to a halt,

and did not increase with the new converts.

‘We have nothing to fear for the future,

except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us,

and His teaching in our past history.’

31 years after the death of Ellen G. White, in 1946,

a person suspected to be a Jesuit spy of the Vatican,

named LeRoy E. Froom, together with associates

have read many manuscripts of Mrs. White to seek out any sentences

that can be taken out of context, edited, and used to support the doctrine of the trinity,

and mixed them with other statements into a book called “Evangelism”

to propagate that trinity heresy into the church,

to become one of the 28 fundamental beliefs,

changing the God that the SDA church worships,

transgressing the law of God forbidding idolatry and the worship of false gods.

‘In rejecting the truth, men reject its Author.

In trampling upon the law of God,

they deny the authority of the Lawgiver.

It is as easy to make an idol of false doctrines and theories

as to fashion an idol of wood or stone.

By misrepresenting the attributes of God,

Satan leads men to conceive of him in a false character.

With many, a philosophical idol is enthroned in the place of Jehovah;

while the living God, as he is revealed

in his Word, in Christ, and in the works of creation,

is worshiped by but few…

Though in a different form, idolatry exists in the Christian world today

as verily as it existed among ancient Israel in the days of Elijah.

The god of many professedly wise men,

of philosophers, poets, politicians, journalists,

—the god of polished fashionable circles

of many colleges and universities,

even of some theological institutions,—

is little better than Baal, the sun-god of Phoenicia.’

6. Amidst this apostasy, stood this group of 144.000 people untainted.

What are their identifications?

Identification number 1:

[27] Revelation 14:1 an hundred forty and four thousand,

having his name and his Father’s name written in their foreheads.

In the Bible, the forehead is the symbol of the mind.

Having the name of the Lamb and the name of the Father of the Lamb written in the foreheads

means that these people have a CORRECT knowledge of the Only True God and His Only Begotten Son.

This knowledge would then in turn manifest itself out

as obedience to the fourth commandment regarding the Sabbath,

as an obvious part of the unchanging law of the Ten Commandments.

This is the Seal of God.

Please review that lesson to ascertain this truth more clearly if needed.

Identification number 2:

[27] Revelation 14:4, 5 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins…

And in their mouth was found no guile:

for they are without fault before the throne of God.

In the Bible, “women” is the symbol for churches.

These people are not contaminated

by any lying heresies from the apostate churches: Babylon or her daughters.

{Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the church vol.1, 129.1}

‘I saw that God has given His servants the truth so clear, so plain,

that it CANNOT BE RESISTED.

Wherever they go, they have CERTAIN VICTORY.

Their enemies cannot get round the convincing truth.

Light has been shed so clear

that the servants of God can stand up anywhere

and let truth, clear and connected, bear away the victory.

This great blessing has not been prized, or even realized.’

The 144.000 are those who understand all Bible truths accurately,

together with having Lord JESUS reigning in their souls,

they become His invincible army in all arenas of truth,

before all opponents of truth, against any heresy.

But that also means: if one allows himself or herself

to be deceived into believing any lying heresy,

that person immediately can no longer be a member of the 144.000,

whether saved or lost.

Identification number 3:

[27] Revelation 14:4 These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth.

These are they who are truly converted,

who have surrendered all to Christ,

NOT the lukewarm, false Christians so common in this era.

Also, the description of them “following JESUS wherever He leads”,

when combined with that very peculiar number of 12.000 times 12,

is a very strong indication to the 12 apostles.

Personally I believe that much is enough

to identify them as the “apostles” of Christ in the last days.

Not that they are apostles necessarily,

but the core soldiers of His army

among all the sincere and devoted Christians,

stand out from the rest simply because they understand all Bible truths accurately (identification number 2).

Conclusion:

We can see the 144.000 consists of two groups of people:

1) Those who were sealed in the time of Ellen G. White,

died before the apostasy of the SDA church, like Mrs. Hastings.

2) Those who are sealed in the days right before the second coming of the Lord,

when He strives to restore the correct understanding of Him and His Father in the SDA church,

after the church had strayed away and embraced the trinity doctrine,

changing the God that they worship.

There will be so few who would receive this correction from Him,

so few that their total number,

together with those who died in the time of Mrs. White,

reach only to 144.000.

These are the few who not only keep the Ten Commandments accurately,

which include both the first and the fourth,

but also have the testimony of JESUS ([27] Revelation 12:17),

succeeding the writings of Ellen G. White given by the Lord to the church.

‘To stand in defense of truth and righteousness when the majority forsake us,

to fight the battles of the Lord when champions are few

—this will be our test.’

{Ellen G. White, Letters and Manuscripts vol. 6, Ms. 6, 1889, par. 39-40}

‘Where will be the distinction from the Sunday observers?

How will we be recognized as the Sabbathkeeping people of God?…

The two armies will stand distinct and separate,

and this distinction will be so marked

that many who shall be convinced of truth

will come on the side of God’s commandment-keeping people.

When this grand work is to take place in the battle,

prior to the last closing conflict,

many will be imprisoned,

many will flee for their lives from cities and towns,

and many will be martyrs for Christ’s sake in standing in defense of the truth.’

7. What would happen to the Seventh-day Adventists

who mistakenly believe this doctrine of the trinity?

Are they lost?

[10] Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith.

How fortunate that we are saved not by understanding doctrines accurately,

but by a surrendered faith towards the Lord JESUS,

therefore not all of this group is lost. Only a part of them are.

It is those that the Lord has given opportunities to know the Truth,

but have not utilized it, or even deny the Truth willfully

– to the point that the Holy Spirit left them –

are most assuredly hopeless.

The prophecy in [26] Ezekiel chapter 8 and 9 reveals to us

that foremost among these people are most (but perhaps not all)

of the elders, the leaders of the church when the Lord shall return,

but have apostatized and corrupted themselves,

no longer loyal to Him in their hearts.

As for the rest, who have faithfully followed the Lord

with the limited light they have,

are qualified to be saved.

They are those who died in faith before the Lord’s second coming,

and they either never had the opportunity to know the truth regarding this matter,

or they were examining it, still under the working of the Holy Spirit,

and have not yet come to their conclusions when they died.

These people died in faith, still have the Holy Spirit, and therefore they will still be saved,

even when they have misunderstood a doctrine.

They are the millions of believers between the two groups of the 144.000,

but they are not among the 144.000.

‘”Like as a father pitieth his children,

so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him.

For He knoweth our frame;

He remembereth that we are dust.” Psalm 103:13, 14.

He knows our heart, for He reads every secret of the soul.

He knows whether or not those for whom petitions are offered

would be able to endure the trial and test that would come upon them if they lived.

He knows the end from the beginning.

Many will be laid away to sleep

before the fiery ordeal of the time of trouble shall come upon our world.

This is another reason why we should say after our earnest petition;

“Nevertheless not my will, but Thine, be done.” Luke 22:42.

Such a petition will never be registered in heaven as a faithless prayer.’

There were many people from many denominations, for some reason,

never had the opportunity to access these truths of God,

including the truth about the trinity heresy and the Sabbath,

but were wholeheartedly loyal to the Lord,

have been consented by Him to be laid to rest before He shall return.

He knew they would not survive the last fearful conflict “the Mark of the Beast”,

thus in His mercy, had stored them away safely beforehand.

Among them, but in the SDA church,

would be the millions between the two groups of the 144.000.

But that also means, those who were not laid to rest beforehand,

but live until the Lord’s second coming

and are caught worshiping the trinity god of the beast by Him,

would be very unfortunate.

8. What would happen to the dead of the 144.000, like Mrs. White and Mrs. Hastings?

{Ellen G. White – Spirit of Prophecy vol.4, 453.1 – 454.1}

‘It is at midnight that God manifests his power for the deliverance of his people.

The sun appears shining in its strength.

Startling signs and wonders follow in quick succession.

The wicked look with terror and amazement upon the scene,

while the righteous behold with solemn joy the tokens of their deliverance.

Everything in nature seems turned out of its course.

The streams cease to flow.

Dark, heavy clouds come up, and clash against each other.

In the midst of the angry heavens is one clear space of indescribable glory,

whence comes the voice of God like the sound of many waters,

saying, “It is done.”

That voice shakes the heavens and the earth.

There is a mighty earthquake.

The firmament appears to open and shut.

The glory from the throne of God seems flashing through.

The mountains shake like a reed in the wind,

and ragged rocks are scattered on every side.

There is a roar as of a coming tempest.

The sea is lashed into fury.

There is heard the shriek of the hurricane,

like the voice of demons upon a mission of destruction.

The whole earth heaves and swells like the waves of the sea.

Its surface is breaking up.

Its very foundations seem to be giving way.

Mountain chains are sinking.

Inhabited islands disappear with their living freight.

The seaports that have become like Sodom for wickedness

are swallowed up by the angry waters.

Great hailstones, every one “about the weight of a talent,” [Revelation 16:21.]

are doing their work of destruction.

The proudest cities of the earth are laid low.

The costly palaces, upon which the world’s great men

have lavished their wealth in order to glorify themselves,

are crumbling to ruin before their eyes.

Prison walls are rent asunder,

and God’s people, who have been held in bondage for their faith, are set free.

Graves are opened, and “many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth”

“awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” [Daniel 12:2.]

All who have died in faith under the third angel’s message

come forth from the tomb glorified,

to hear God’s covenant of peace with those who have kept his law.

“They also which pierced Him,”

those that mocked and derided Christ’s dying agonies,

and the most violent opposers of his truth and his people,

are raised to behold him in his glory,

and to see the honor placed upon the loyal and obedient.’

There will be a special resurrection event

right before the general resurrection of the righteous only,

analyzed in the lesson “the End of the World“.

And in this resurrection, according to [27] Daniel 12:2,

there will be some righteous and some wicked people.

Together with those that JESUS had plainly declared:

“Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power,

and coming in the clouds of heaven” ([01] Matthew 26:64),

raised to receive shame and everlasting contempt,

the dead members of the 144.000

– martyrs included, if there be any – will also be raised.

All members of the 144.000 will then get to hear God’s covenant of peace

before beholding the Lord coming from afar.

‘The living saints, 144,000 in number,

knew and understood the voice,

while the wicked thought it was thunder and an earthquake.’

9. How near are we to the End of the World?

[27] Revelation 7:3-4 “Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees,

till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.”

And I heard the number of them which were sealed:

and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand.

Notice the word “till” in the verse?

It means once the sealing is complete, the hurting will begin

(probation closed, moving on to the 7 last plagues).

‘An angel returning from the earth announces that his work is done,

that the seal of God has been placed upon his people.

Then JESUS ceases his intercession in the sanctuary above.

He lifts his hands, and with a loud voice says, “It is done;”

and all the angelic host lay off their crowns as he makes the solemn announcement:

“He that is unjust, let him be unjust still;

and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still;

and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still;

and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” [Revelation 22:11]

Every case has been decided for life or death.

Christ has made the atonement for his people, and blotted out their sins.

The number of his subjects is made up.’

Only when the sealing is completed, can the probation time be closed.

The work of evangelizing Bible truths accurately to gather this group of 144.000

is the key to hastening the second coming of the Lord JESUS.

To be called upon to join this army

is the highest honor a Christian can receive from the Lord,

along with the heaviest responsibility in this era of the world about to end.

10. What are the special rewards for the 144.000?

From the testimonies of Ellen G. White, a vision of the-place-where-sin-is-no-more,

where there is a temple outside New Jerusalem, on the mount of Zion:

{Ellen G. White, Early Writings, 18.2-19.1}

‘As we were traveling along,

we met a company who also were gazing at the glories of the place.

I noticed red as a border on their garments;

their crowns were brilliant; their robes were pure white.

As we greeted them, I asked Jesus who they were.

He said they were martyrs that had been slain for Him.

With them was an innumerable company of little ones;

they also had a hem of red on their garments.

Mount Zion was just before us,

and on the mount was a glorious temple,

and about it were seven other mountains,

on which grew roses and lilies.

And I saw the little ones climb, or, if they chose,

use their little wings and fly, to the top of the mountains

and pluck the never-fading flowers.

There were all kinds of trees around the temple to beautify the place:

the box, the pine, the fir, the oil, the myrtle, the pomegranate,

and the fig tree bowed down with the weight of its timely figs

—these made the place all over glorious.

And as we were about to enter the holy temple,

Jesus raised His lovely voice and said,

“Only the 144,000 enter this place,”

and we shouted, “Alleluia.”

This temple was supported by seven pillars,

all of transparent gold, set with pearls most glorious.

The wonderful things I there saw I cannot describe.

Oh, that I could talk in the language of Canaan,

then could I tell a little of the glory of the better world.

I saw there tables of stone

in which the names of the 144,000 were engraved in letters of gold.

After we beheld the glory of the temple, we went out,

and Jesus left us and went to the city.

Soon we heard His lovely voice again, saying,

“Come, My people, you have come out of great tribulation,

and done My will; suffered for Me;

come in to supper, for I will gird Myself, and serve you.”

We shouted, “Alleluia! glory!”

and entered into the city.

And I saw a table of pure silver;

it was many miles in length, yet our eyes could extend over it.

I saw the fruit of the tree of life,

the manna, almonds, figs, pomegranates, grapes,

and many other kinds of fruit.

I asked Jesus to let me eat of the fruit.

He said, “Not now. Those who eat of the fruit of this land go back to earth no more.

But in a little while, if faithful, you shall both eat of the fruit of the tree of life

and drink of the water of the fountain.”

And He said, “You must go back to the earth again

and relate to others what I have revealed to you.”

Then an angel bore me gently down to this dark world.

Sometimes I think I can stay here no longer;

all things of earth look so dreary.

I feel very lonely here, for I have seen a better land.

Oh, that I had wings like a dove, then would I fly away and be at rest!’

‘Bro. Wm. H. Hyde who was present, composed the following verses,

which have gone the rounds of the religious papers,

and have found a place in several hymn books.

Those who have published, read and sung them have little thought

that they originated from a vision of a girl, persecuted for her humble testimony.

The Better Land.

“We have heard from the bright, the holy land,
We have heard, and our hearts are glad;
For we were a lonely pilgrim band,
And weary, and worn and sad.

They tell us the pilgrims have a dwelling there—
No longer are homeless ones;
And we know that the goodly land is fair,
Where life’s pure river runs.

They say green fields are waving there,
That never a blight shall know;
And the deserts wild are blooming fair,
And the roses of Sharon grow.

There are lovely birds in the bowers green—
Their songs are blithe and sweet;
And their warblings gushing ever new,
The angels’ harpings greet.

We have heard of the palms, the robes, the crowns,
And the silvery band in white;
Of the City fair with pearly gates,
All radiant with light.

We have heard of the angels there, and saints,
With their harps of gold, how they sing;

‘The Lord has given me a view of other worlds.

Wings were given me, and an angel attended me from the city to a place that was bright and glorious.

The grass of the place was living green, and the birds there warbled a sweet song.

The inhabitants of the place were of all sizes;

they were noble, majestic, and lovely.

They bore the express image of Jesus,

and their countenances beamed with holy joy,

expressive of the freedom and happiness of the place.

I asked one of them why they were so much more lovely than those on the earth.

The reply was, “We have lived in strict obedience to the commandments of God,

and have not fallen by disobedience, like those on the earth.”

Then I saw two trees, one looked much like the tree of life in the city.

The fruit of both looked beautiful, but of one they could not eat.

They had power to eat of both, but were forbidden to eat of one.

Then my attending angel said to me,

“None in this place have tasted of the forbidden tree;

but if they should eat, they would fall.”

Then I was taken to a world which had seven moons.

There I saw good old Enoch, who had been translated.

On his right arm he bore a glorious palm,

and on each leaf was written “Victory.”

Around his head was a dazzling white wreath,

and leaves on the wreath,

and in the middle of each leaf was written “Purity,”

and around the wreath were stones of various colors,

that shone brighter than the stars,

and cast a reflection upon the letters and magnified them.

On the back part of his head was a bow that confined the wreath,

and upon the bow was written “Holiness.”

Above the wreath was a lovely crown that shone brighter than the sun.

I asked him if this was the place he was taken to from the earth.

He said, “It is not; the city is my home, and I have come to visit this place.”

He moved about the place as if perfectly at home.

I begged of my attending angel to let me remain in that place.

I could not bear the thought of coming back to this dark world again.

Then the angel said, “You must go back, and if you are faithful,

you, with the 144,000, shall have the privilege of visiting all the worlds and viewing the handiwork of God.”’

12. As we speak, the movement to call people back to the great Bible truths

that have been re-established by the Lord in the time of Ellen G. White

is rapidly gathering converts for the 144.000.

With the spreading of the Pillars of Faith given to the SDA Pioneers

as presented in this Prophecy Encyclopedia,

exposing all heresies within and without the SDA church,

the ranks of the 144.000 will soon be filled up.

And right when it is filled up,

probation time for the whole human race will suddenly be closed,

and the Lord shall come, ending the world.

‘Satan well knows that success can only attend order and harmonious action.

He well knows that everything connected with heaven is in perfect order,

that subjection and thorough discipline mark the movements of the angelic host.

It is his studied effort to lead professed Christians

just as far from heaven’s arrangement as he can;

therefore he deceives even the professed people of God,

and makes them believe that order and discipline are enemies to spirituality;

that the only safety for them is to let each pursue his own course,

and to remain especially distinct from bodies of Christians

who are united, and are laboring to establish discipline and harmony of action.

All the efforts made to establish order are considered dangerous,

a restriction of rightful liberty, and hence are feared as popery.

These deceived souls consider it a virtue

to boast of their freedom to think and act independently.

They will not take any man’s say-so.

They are amenable to no man.

I was shown that it is Satan’s special work

to lead men to feel that it is God’s order for them to strike out for themselves,

and choose their own course, independent of their brethren.‘

Will you do the will of the devil,

separating yourself from the end-time army of the Lord,

OR will you join forces with us in the 144.000

under Christ JESUS the Only Begotten Son of God,

and daily striving after Him to be ready to receive the Latter Rain?

Appendix

I. The painful lesson of the Seventh-day Adventist church in 1888,

the introduction of the trinity heresy into the SDA church after the death of Ellen G. White,

the split into two branches: the Modern branch following the trinity god,

and the Pioneeric branch holding fast and calling for a return

to the truths given to the Pioneers of the church by the Lord.

In 1888, the SDA church was in danger of losing its Christ-centeredness

because they were focusing too much on the Ten Commandments,

especially the fourth commandment regarding the Sabbath.

In that year’s general conference meeting,

the Lord sent 2 of His servants – Waggoner and Jones –

to preach to the church the truth of righteousness by faith,

stressing upon the point:

Lord JESUS is not only the one dying for our sins to justify us through faith,

but also the One keeping us obeying even the Ten Commandments of God by dwelling in us.

He is the fullness of the law of God in its entirety,

including both the ceremonial laws pointing towards Him that are no longer binding,

and the moral laws of the Ten Commandments that we are to keep still in Christ.

Therefore disciples of JESUS must keep their eyes on Him,

surrender and cling unto Him as the Lord ruling in their souls,

and through that He will bring them peace and His righteous life force,

and they will automatically be keeping the Commandments of God.

This message was calculated to be delivered to the SDA church in their state back then,

not only to lift them up from the trap of legalism,

but to also break their hearts and ready them for the “Latter Rain”

that should have started to fall right then and there.

However, when it was delivered, almost the entire church,

except Mrs. White and a few faithful core members,

had outrightly refused it.

After Mrs. White died in 1915,

the gift of “the Spirit of Prophecy” was withdrawn from the church,

and there was no prophet raised to be her successor.

Throughout the time of Ellen G. White

and the Pioneers who founded the SDA church,

they never believed in the trinity doctrine.

They even made a poem to mock and jeer at this heresy,

posted on the official paper of the church – the Review & Herald –

the poem that this Prophecy Encyclopedia was honored to attach

in the Appendix at the end of the lesson “the Last True Church“.

James White himself – the husband of Mrs. White, sharing the same faith with her –

even classed that doctrine as one of the “fundamental errors”:

‘As fundamental errors,

we might class with this counterfeit sabbath other errors

which Protestants have brought away from the Catholic church,

such as sprinkling for baptism,

THE TRINITY,

the consciousness of the dead

and eternal life in misery.

The mass who have held these fundamental errors,

have doubtless done it ignorantly;

but can it be supposed that the church of Christ

will carry along with her these errors

till the judgment scenes burst upon the world?

We think not.’

While Mrs. White herself left behind eloquent and undeniable testimonies:

‘The man Christ Jesus was not the Lord God Almighty.’

{Manuscript 140, 1903, par. 28}

‘Before the assembled inhabitants of heaven

the King declared that none but Christ, the Only Begotten of God,

could fully enter into His purposes,

and to Him it was committed to execute the mighty counsels of His will.’

{Patriarchs and Prophets 1890, 36.2}

‘The Son of God was next in authority to the great Lawgiver.’

{Spirit of Prophecy vol. 2, 9.1}

‘It is not safe to catch the spirit from another.

We want the Holy Spirit, which is JESUS Christ.’

{Ellen G. White, letter 66, 1894, par. 18}

‘The Lord has shown me that Satan was once an honored angel in heaven, next to JESUS Christ.’

{Spiritual Gifts vol. 1, 17.1}

These testimonies not only utterly deny the existence of any divine being other than the Father and the Son,

but also reveal to us the order of authority and power in Heaven before the entrance of sin.

The highest is God,

the second highest is His Only Begotten Son,

and the third highest right next to Him was Satan.

The testimonies of Ellen G. White plainly expose the identity

of this neither-the-Father-nor-the-Son-yet-sought-worship-for-himself fellow.

And we know that nowadays he has been largely successful

by twisting the correct understanding of “the Holy Spirit” with the trinity doctrine.

See lesson “the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit“.

But right after the first generation of the SDA church, and then Ellen White, passed away,

the trinity doctrine had found its way into the church.

In 1946, a man named LeRoy E. Froom,

suspected to be a spy of the Roman Catholic church from the order of the Jesuits

(the organization specialized in training religious spies

to infiltrate, corrupt and overtake the Protestant churches,

the most dangerous enemy of the Protestant Reformation among men,

where Pope Francis, the current ruler of the Vatican, is from),

had spent time reading countless manuscripts of Mrs. White

to find out many quotes that can be taken out of context

and edited to promote the trinity doctrine.

This man, and many others after him

had compiled these quotes into new books

“using the testimonies of Ellen G. White”

to install the trinity doctrine into the SDA church.

These books that were edited after the death of Mrs. White are extremely dangerous,

because even when they could not be certified by the author

to have accurately presented her points,

they still hide under her credibility

to trick the people into blindly believing them without double-checking.

And thus the SDA church has been injected with this trinity doctrine.

While still alive, many times Mrs. White

had managed to push back the assaults of the trinity doctrine

and successfully protected the church,

like the period of 1900-1905

when she had to fight against one of its forms

in the book “Living Temple” by a doctor named Kellogg:

‘In the book Living Temple there is presented the alpha of deadly heresies.

The omega will follow, and will be received by those

who are not willing to heed the warning God has given.’

{Ellen G. White, Selected Messages book 1, 1904, 200.1}

Afterward, no longer having “the testimony of JESUS” living among them,

the church had easily been infiltrated by the trinity doctrine,

just as Mrs. White predicted and feared before she died in 1915:

‘I tell you now, that when I am laid to rest, great changes will take place.

I do not know when I shall be taken;

and I desire to warn all against the devices of the devil.

I want the people to know that I warned them fully before my death.’

{Ellen G. White, Selected Messages book 1, 204.2}

‘The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the supposition

that a great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists,

and that this reformation would consist in GIVING UP THE DOCTRINES WHICH STAND AS THE PILLARS OF OUR FAITH,

and engaging in a process of reorganization.

Were this reformation to take place, what would result?

The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church, would be discarded.

Our religion would be changed.

THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES THAT HAVE SUSTAINED THE WORK FOR THE LAST FIFTY YEARS WOULD BE ACCOUNTED AS ERROR.

A new organization would be established.

Books of a new order would be written.

A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced.

The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work.

The Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it.

Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the new movement.

The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice,

but God being removed,

they would place their dependence on human power,

which, without God, is worthless.

Their foundation would be built on the sand,

and STORM AND TEMPEST WOULD SWEEP AWAY THE STRUCTURE.’

Thus the fate of the organization

that dared account “the fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years” as “errors”

had been clearly prophesied:

“storm and tempest would sweep away the structure“.

Meaning the Modern SDA church, on the organizational scale,

will not submit to be reformed back to the Pioneeric faith

along with the sheep that hear and follow the Lord’s voice in it,

but will persist in rebellion to the bitter end and be swept away.

Nowadays, a creed of “28 fundamental beliefs” has even been made,

containing that trinity doctrine,

which people in many places have to profess to believe

in order to join or remain in the church

– a work not at all inspired by the Lord.

With that move, the number of believers in the trinity doctrine

became even more the dominating majority in the church.

‘The first step of apostasy is to get up a creed,

telling us what we shall believe.

The second is, to make that creed a test of fellowship.

The third is to try members by that creed.

The fourth to denounce as heretics those who do not believe that creed.

And, fifth, to commence persecution against such.’

Nowadays, accepting, discussing and preaching the truth

that exposes the trinity heresy

are even considered to be vandalizing the church,

especially by its officials,

with the highest punishment of excommunication already executed upon many members.

were cast out of the church untried and unconvicted of any crime,

a clear violation of [04] John 7:51.

“Doth our law judge any man,

before it hear him, and know what he doeth?”

The Seventh-day Adventists who are deceived into believing this trinity heresy

– which is the majority –

are the Modern branch of the SDA church,

controlling the church on the organizational scale.

While the true Seventh-day Adventists,

who faithfully hold fast to the Pillars of Faith

that the Lord had given the Pioneers

– the Pioneeric branch of the SDA church –

launch a movement in the church against this trinity heresy,

calling people to return to the Only True God ([04] John 17:3),

keeping the first commandment “thou shalt not have any other gods before Me”

– the commandment that perhaps cannot be less important than the fourth about the Sabbath.

Sadly, like most struggles to defend the Truth,

the side of the Truth is again the minority upon this earth.

The rejection in 1888, when “the Latter Rain” might have fallen,

had thus become the decisive fall of the SDA church,

from which it slowly backslid step by step

and never could get up to find its former self again.

This same rejection of the servants of God in 1888 back then,

is now employed against those whose minds are opened by the Lord

to see the heretical nature of the trinity doctrine in the church,

and thus are sent by Him to call for reform.

The prophecies of prophets normally are 100% sure.

Very rarely do cases like the prophet Jonah and the Ninevites happen,

when the Lord had declared something through His prophet,

but then changed His mind

(He declared through Jonah His prophet that He would destroy the Ninivites,

but then they trembled and repented at the preaching of His servant,

so He changed His mind and spared them).

It is because of a principle He had stated clearly in the Bible:

[24] Jeremiah 18:7-10 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom,

to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;

If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil,

I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom,

to build and to plant it;

If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice,

then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

Men cannot alter the intention of the Lord by strength or wisdom,

but they can totally do it by repentance,

or by the hardening of the hearts.

The Lord did intend to return so soon

that some of the believers in the time of Mrs. White

would have still been alive to witness His coming.

About a conference in 1856, Mrs. White said:

‘I was shown the company present at the Conference.

Said the angel: “Some food for worms,

some subjects of the seven last plagues,

some will be alive and remain upon the earth

to be translated at the coming of JESUS.”’

{Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the church vol. 1, 131.3}

But after the 1888 incident,

the SDA church had forced the Lord to delay His good intention for them,

and from then even until now,

it is still wandering this vast desert, not yet reached the Promised Land.

Over a century has passed since 1888,

a new generation has been raised up by the Lord,

replacing the old who failed Him before.

Cleansed from all heresies, including the trinity heresy,

the number of the Pioneeric SDA is growing again towards reaching 144.000.

And now it is our turn to stand before great tests just like the 1888 incident.

And with the preaching of the truths exposing the trinity heresy

and the health-destroying Covid-19 vaccines and tyrannical mandates,

it is fair to say that those tests HAVE ALREADY STARTED,

to see who will recognize the messages of truth sent by the Lord

and aggressively come up to the help of the Lord against the mighty,

purifying our ranks from the false-hearted.

Will we hear the voice of the Lord and follow His leading,

or will we fight against the message sent by Him?

Will we love and unite,

or will we be fighting and dividing over vainglory and selfish interests?

Will we trust and be loyal to THE LORD ONLY,

or will we be loyal to ministry A or trust in vaccine B?

Will we rise and shine courageously

and become the last generation of the history of mankind,

witnessing the Lord JESUS Christ coming in the clouds of heaven,

or will we have to lie down, this time even in perdition,

for others to be raised up to replace us?

That will depend upon whether we will be serious Christians,

truly having Christ dwelling and reigning in our souls.

Nothing but the Lord can unite us in Him, in the Truth, in Love.

We will have to be true and hardcore,

or fail as assuredly as all the other failed generations before us.

II. Moving from the cities to the countries,

preparing to fight against the decree forbiding buying and selling – the Mark of the Beast,

and the role of self-sustaining farms in filling up the 144.000, ending the world.

‘Again and again the Lord has instructed

that our people are to take their families away from the cities, into the country,

where they can RAISE THEIR OWN PROVISIONS;

for in the future THE PROBLEM OF BUYING AND SELLING WILL BE A SERIOUS ONE.

We should now begin to heed the instruction given us over and over again:

Get out of the cities into rural districts, where the houses are not crowded closely together,

and where you will be free from the interference of enemies.’

Before the decree “the Mark of the Beast” shall issue the death sentence

to those who do not yield to the Beast and transgress the commandment of God,

there will be a significant period of time

when the punishment shall simply be prohibition from buying and selling.

It is in that period of time, that having the necessary facilities,

with enough privacy, having no adjacent neighboring house spying on,

will be crucially important to the saints, so that they can continue to exist

and preach the Truth against this decree that forces people to sin against God,

and also to receive those who, because of their acceptance of the Truth,

will be persecuted and forced into a corner.

Without a doubt, many such believers will be brought by the Lord

to the doorsteps of those who, because they had early access to the Truth,

had managed to prepare their facilities beforehand – us.

And since probation can only close and the Lord returns when the 144.000 has been filled up, as presented in question 9 of this lesson,

we must understand that we need those brethren to fill up the 144.000 just as much that they need us to save their lives.

When making the decision to accept the Sabbath to be loyal to God, they still haven’t been cleansed from all heresies.

If we can receive them into our homes and upgrade them into members of the 144.000 before the wicked manage to kill them, we hasten the day of the Lord’s coming.

But if the enemies can kill them first, they delay His advent and gain more time to persecute us and decrease our numbers.

This is simply a race. We race against the clock to save them and end the world. The enemies race against the clock to kill them and delay the second coming of the Lord.

Which is why the self-sustaining farms are so absolutely crucial to us in the last days.

They are the very tools for us to save these brethren, and thus can access to update them with the truths they are still missing, add them to the 144.000.

During the days of the coming Mark of the Beast, the Last True Church, the Pioneeric SDA,

will DEFINITELY no longer be able to exist as an official and legal organization.

Churches will be confiscated, books will be destroyed, believers will be hunted down.

Granted, we might still possess our online church, with all our digital materials.

But these self-sustaining farms, functioning as underground home churches, will be the only physical synagogues we shall have,

And the farm owners, who have been fully armed with all the truths beforehand, will have to be exceptionally mature in Christ to fill the most respected positions in the church,

to be not only providers of food and shelter to the saints, but also their direct Bible teachers, quickly adding them to the 144.000, ending the world.

Us owning enough farms can make the difference between reaching the Promised Land in only a few years,

or, having to wander for 40 YEARS like the Israelites of old, in the wilderness of withering persecution under the Mark of the Beast, until we manage to fill up our ranks and meet the Lord at His coming.

And trust me: you would want Him to come as soon as possible so you can escape the brutal persecution of the enemies, once the Mark of the Beast has been issued! You would not want to be trampled underfoot for 40 years!

Moreover, those at the time of the no buying and selling decree “the Mark of the Beast” being issued,

that have become self-supporting in food, water, clothes, energy…

will be in a much better condition to withstand this decree.

While those who have had opportunities but have neglected the necessary preparation,

will then have to stand before the tremendous pressure of temptation

to betray the Lord and transgress His commandment,

to retain the lives of his family.

‘Human laws will be made so stringent that men and women will not dare to observe the seventh-day Sabbath.

FOR FEAR OF WANTING FOOD AND CLOTHING, they will join with the world in transgressing God’s law.’

Having to witness one’s own children starve to death,

even to those who are loyal enough to the Lord to be willing to pay that price,

would still be a very unpleasant experience.

And it is something that could have been avoided

if one simply heed the words of the Lord given through His prophet, and prepare beforehand.

‘The time HAS COME when, AS GOD OPENS THE WAY, families should move out of the cities.

The children should be taken into the country.

The parents should get as suitable a place as their means will allow.

Though the dwelling may be small,

yet there should be land in connection with it that may be cultivated.’

The work of planting fruit trees, prepaying internet and phone bills,

building facilities, water suppliers (like digging a well, building a water harvester for a stream or rainwater),

energy suppliers (wind, water, or solar power),

basically preparing the needed facilities that allow the saints to be independent of men,

having no need to buy or sell with the outer world,

is a work that might need years long to learn, execute and finish.

As we are living when the conditions of the world are so mature

that the decree forbidding buying and selling can be issued anytime now,

the work of preparation must be carried out immediately as God opens the way.

‘The same voice that warned Lot to leave Sodom bids us,

“Come out from among them, and be ye separate, … and touch not the unclean.”

Those who obey this warning WILL FIND A REFUGE.

Let every man be wide awake for himself, and try to SAVE HIS FAMILY.

Let him gird himself for the work.

GOD WILL REVEAL FROM POINT TO POINT WHAT TO DO NEXT.’

The Lord Himself shall direct those who wish to do His will step by step.

So the most important thing is to maintain and develop a personal relationship with the Lord

and watch for His opening providence.

‘Parents can secure small homes in the country, with land for cultivation,

where they can have orchards and where they can raise vegetables and small fruits…

On such places the children will not be surrounded with the corrupting influences of city life.

GOD WILL HELP HIS PEOPLE TO FIND SUCH HOMES OUTSIDE THE CITIES.’

A question arose: what about the time of trouble when probation is closed,

the seven last plagues are being poured down upon the earth,

and we are forced to flee from our self-sustaining farms before the wicked?

{Ellen G. White, Patriarchs and Prophets 201.2}

‘When Christ shall CEASE HIS WORK AS MEDIATOR in man’s behalf, then THIS TIME OF TROUBLE WILL BEGIN.’

{Ellen G. White, Counsels for the Church, 281.4}

‘The Lord has shown me repeatedly that it is contrary to the Bible

to make any provision for our temporal wants IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE.

I saw that if the saints had food laid up by them or in the field in the time of trouble,

when sword, famine, and pestilence are in the land,

it would be taken from them by violent hands and strangers would reap their fields.

Then will be the time for us to trust wholly in God, and He will sustain us.

I saw that OUR BREAD AND WATER WILL BE SURE AT THAT TIME,

and that we shall not lack or suffer hunger; for God is able to spread a table for us in the wilderness.

If necessary He would send ravens to feed us, as He did to feed Elijah, or rain manna from heaven, as He did for the Israelites.’

When we shall have to flee from our farms,

our provisions will be BREAD AND WATER from the Lord. No meat.

Remember to give thanks to Him for His provisions then,

instead of ungratefully murmuring against its plainness,

like the Israelites of old murmured against the plain yet EXTREMELY NUTRITIOUS manna

that the Lord gave them to eat and be healthy for 40 YEARS in the wilderness without the need of any other food.

But for the time being, build a self-sustaining farm.

You’ll need it up until probation is closed.

Ellen White sometimes did use the term “the time of trouble”

to refer to the enter period since the issue of the decree forbidding buying and selling until the second coming,

and did not exclusively use it only to refer to the final period when probation has been closed,

so many people reading this quote of hers would misunderstand that God will miraculously supply them with bread and water very early on,

even since the Mark of the Beast is issued, not from the time when the seven last plagues are falling upon the earth,

and thus they don’t have to prepare their self-sustaining farm.

This view contradicts all the other quotes where Mrs. White plainly urged the people of God

to leave the city, go to the country and prepare their food farms against the coming decree,

“for in the future THE PROBLEM OF BUYING AND SELLING WILL BE A SERIOUS ONE.”

This grave misunderstanding, no doubt, will lead to the martyrdom of countless saints, having to starve to death on the street.

Be guarded against it.

III. Back to Eden Documentary Film – How to Grow a Regenerative Organic Garden.

With the coming of the Mark of the Beast, forbidding buying and selling

to all commandment-keeping Christians who would be faithful to the Lord,

a revelation has been given by Him that cannot be more timely.

It came one day as arborist Paul Gautschi was asking God

how the jungle, having no man’s hand to care for, is the most fertile of soils,

while his garden, even with him working so hard in it, is so inferior in every aspect.

The no-till gardening method that God revealed to Paul,

later on called the “back to Eden” gardening style,

will show how the words of Christ “my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” in [01] Matthew 11:30 apply to agriculture,

and will enable every newbie with a piece of land

to face the coming issue of not being able to buy food, caused by the Mark of the Beast, with ease.
